A closed opportunity continues to exist in the system, retrievable and reportable.
Archiving is acceptable as long as archived records still appear in reporting. Present in an export is not the same as reportable. Immutability after close is not required and is not assessed.
This is the requirement every other backward-looking number rests on. If closed opportunities leave the system, conversion rates, win rates, sales cycle length and lost-reason analysis all lose their denominator. You can report only on the work you have not finished, which is the opposite of what sales reporting is for.
In full where closed opportunities remain retrievable and appear in native reporting. In part where they persist but drop out of reporting, or are recoverable only through an export. Not at all where closing removes the record.
Closing does not remove the opportunity. It stays in the database, can be listed by filtering the Opportunities tab on Status, and can be reopened later. Act! also ships reports built specifically on settled opportunities: Sales by Reason covers closed and won opportunities by reason, and there are Lost Opportunities reports broken out by competitor, by reason and by record manager, plus a Totals By Status report. One caveat worth recording: the opportunity pipeline chart is stated to cover open opportunities only, so that particular view excludes won and lost records even though the reports do not.
Settled opportunities are kept rather than removed. The pipeline page filters between open and closed opportunities, a closed opportunity can be reopened, and the vendor advises closing as won or lost instead of deleting precisely so the history survives. Standard sales reports run on them, covering won and lost counts and values over time, by owner and by team, lost opportunities broken down by reason, and a conversion rate over rolling periods.
Settled opportunities stay in the system and are reported on. The shipped Opportunities dashboard includes cards for Lost Opportunities by Reason, Total Value by Opportunity State, Opportunity State by Value, Win Rate and Number of Opps by State, all of which require closed records to still be present. The Opportunity History Report also records state and Actual Close Date changes over time.
Closed opportunities stay in the account. The vendor documents predefined and custom filters for won and lost deals in both the pipeline and list views, and the deal performance report is described as showing how many deals were started, won and lost.
Settled opportunities stay in the database and stay in reporting. The API lists opportunities with a status filter, so won and lost records are retrievable by that status. The Deal Overview report is built on them, covering opportunities marked won and marked lost, a won ratio by count and by value calculated against closed opportunities, and an average time to won. The Deal Forecast report likewise reviews opportunities that have been closed. Nothing in the documentation describes closing as deleting or archiving the record.
Settled opportunities stay in the account and stay visible. The pipeline view can be set to display all statuses including won and lost, and its close date filter returns won opportunities settled on a chosen date. The Opportunity Funnels report counts won and lost opportunities, derives a win rate from them and reports an average number of days to close.
No vendor documentation found states what becomes of a deal once it is closed - whether it stays on the pipeline board, moves to a filtered view, or continues to appear in Keap's own reporting. Deleting a deal is documented separately as a permanent action, which is not the same question. The only Keap reports documented are the Growth dashboard widgets, which cover contacts, leads, clients, sales, quotes, invoices and broadcasts, and the All Sales Report, which covers orders rather than pipeline deals.
Closed opportunities stay in the system and stay in the vendor's own reporting. A standard All Opportunities report sits alongside the open-only reports, the Sales Manager dashboard carries a Lost Opportunities tile drawn from opportunities in negative statuses and a Closed Deals tile broken down by deal type and value, and the Sales Rep dashboard's Close Rate tile is built on opportunities closed this month, last month and in the last ninety days.
Closed opportunities stay in the account and stay measurable. Copper's custom report metric list includes separate record counts and value sums for won, lost and open opportunities, win rate metrics, and a running sum of won value ordered by the opportunity close date, all of which require the closed records to persist and remain queryable.
Moving an opportunity into a closing stage is an ordinary stage change, and deletion is a separate action with its own trash. Closed records stay in the All Opportunities list and in the By Sales Stage view, and they keep feeding the app's reports: the reports menu includes opportunity stage performance and sales pipeline reports run over a chosen date range, and the loss reason captured at Closed Lost drives an in-app Loss Analysis as well as an export.
Microsoft states that closing an opportunity deactivates it but does not delete it, so it can be reopened later. Closed records are reachable through the Closed Opportunities view, the associated Opportunity Close activity can be reviewed afterwards, and the forecast category on the opportunity is set to Won or Lost so closed work continues to feed forecasting.
An opportunity in a closing stage is an ordinary record in the Deals object, since closing is only a change of the stage value and Attio documents no record-level archiving on that path. Closed records continue to drive the shipped reports: the Stage changed report counts records and sums values entering a chosen stage over a window, with total value moving into the Won stage given as the vendor's own example, and the Funnel report counts records that reached a target stage such as Won or Lost, including those that skipped or moved backwards.
A settled deal stays a record in its group and stays inside folk's own reporting. The dashboards article documents charts built on closed deals, including revenue by closing date, average deal value by closing date and revenue by closing date by assignee, and describes measuring the Status field for closed or won values.
Settled opportunities stay as items on the Deals board, which ships an Active Deals group and a Closed Won group. They remain in monday's own reporting: the Forecasting View sums closed won deals in the period as current attainment, the Funnel Chart widget computes conversion through to the won label, and the Deal Stages widget can reopen a closed or abandoned deal from its last active stage.
A settled opportunity stays an ordinary record. Salesforce documents report Status filters of Any, Open, Closed and Closed Won that select on the stage type, so closed work is a first class reporting population. Stage history is also kept: entries are added whenever Amount, Probability, Stage or Close Date change, and the vendor states that opportunity stage history data is not automatically deleted.
A box that reaches a closing stage stays in its pipeline and keeps counting. Close rate is calculated as the percentage of boxes won out of all boxes and close rate in value as the percentage of value moved to the Won stage, and funnel reports count how many boxes made it from one stage to the next, so settled work remains part of the product's own reporting.
Closing a record means moving it to a closed stage, not removing it: the module's API response documents a record returned with Stage set to Closed Won, and the vendor's own tips advise filtering old closed lost records out of the working view precisely because they stay in the pipeline. Deletion is a separate action that sends the record to the recycle bin. Dashboard charts, KPIs and target meters are built by selecting a module, and the vendor states that default Deals or Pipeline dashboards ship with the product. Note that the documentation does not spell out in so many words that closed records are included in those dashboards; the finding rests on closed records remaining ordinary records of the module the dashboards read.
Closed opportunities remain in the account and remain in Nimble's own reporting. Won and lost deals sit in their own lists, which the vendor says carry the same sorting and filtering as any other pipeline list, and the Reports tab ships Deals won over time, Lost by Stage and Deals lost by reasons.
Settled deals remain as records and remain inside Freshsales reporting. The vendor's stage movement analytics article works on deals that closed and offers Created at, Closed date and Expected closed date as filters, and the vendor supplies Won deals and Lost deals views that list deals sitting in those stages.
Settled opportunities stay in the workspace in their won or lost stage, and previously created opportunities remain listed under Recent Deals for reference or reuse. Pipeline analytics reports on them directly: the documented blocks include counts of opportunities created, won and lost, an average value of those won, a lost or closed value, and a comparison of open pipeline against closed business.
Closed opportunities persist and stay in Nutshell's reporting. The vendor states a lead whose status is set to Won is added to the Sales report, and the losses reporting covers lost and cancelled leads across the account, segmentable by outcome reason.
Closed deals stay as records and stay inside HubSpot's own reporting. The sales analytics suite documents a Deals won and lost report counting won and lost deals by user or team, a Deal loss reasons report reading the closed lost reason on deals in a closed lost stage, and a sales velocity report measuring the share of deals that become closed won.
A settled deal stays a live record and keeps feeding Vtiger's own reporting. The Closed Deals vs Goals chart shows the total value or count of deals marked Closed Won measured against the quota, and Sales Results reports are documented as covering the deals a team closed and the deals it lost.
A settled deal stays a normal record and keeps appearing in Zoho's own reporting. The predefined Deals reports include Lost Deals, This Month Sales and Today's Sales, and the Forecasts module carries an Achieved figure defined as the closed potential amount in a territory and its sub territories.
