Expected close date

A shipped date field meaning the date the opportunity is expected to be settled.

Why it matters

Distinct from the date it did close. Both are needed and they answer different questions.

No forecast, because nothing places revenue in a period. No way to ask which opportunities a salesperson said would land this month, and no date against which to judge whether an opportunity has gone stale.

How we test it

In full where the vendor ships it for that purpose. In part where the buyer creates the field. Not at all where no expected date can be held.
